Heaven Was Made For People Like You

I remember once a family came to our front door. The father was out of work.
You could see they were really poor.
So, you asked them in for supper; gave the children clothes to wear.
And to this day you remember them, especially in your prayers.
Heaven was made for people like you. Selfless hearts, tried and true.
There's great reward for love well proved. Heaven was made for people like you.
I remember an old blind man; sold pencils on the street.
His sign read, "Pencils For Donation, The Price Just Can't Be Beat".
You told him you would like to buy a few, but you wouldn't need a sack.
You paid him for the pencils, then you quietly put them back.
Heaven was made for people like you. Selfless hearts, tried and true.
There's great reward for love well proved. Heaven was made for people like you.
Heaven's for those who do the will of God above.
Who serve their fellow man with joy and love.
I remember Christmas Day, three years ago. A widow without family had no place to go.
So, you called her up that morning; asked if she'd come spend the day.
You said, "Today is a day for sharing; and the Lord would want it that way.
Heaven was made for people like you. Selfless hearts, tried and true.
There's great reward for love well proved. Heaven was made for people like you.
