It Was Meant To Be

We were meant to love our neighbor. We were meant to lend a hand.
We were meant to be grateful for our freedom in this land.
We were meant to count our blessings; every woman, child and man.
We were meant to be thankful to the men who made a stand.
The sun was meant to give us warmth; its light to find our way.
Families were meant to stay together by bowing their heads to pray.
We were meant to love the old folks; learn the wisdom of their age.
And a mother to love her baby, let it see the light of day.
Come what may, live God's way, 'til your dying day.
Hey! That's the way it was meant to be.
Sometimes it's hard to understand, still the Good Lord has a plan.
So, strive to do the very best you can.
The sky was meant to be baby blue, not brown to hurt your eyes.
Man was meant to love the truth, not live from lie to lie.
Whales were meant to swim the seas.  Eagles were meant to fly.
And we were meant to love the Lord; His laws to abide.
Come what may, live God's way, 'til your dying day.
Hey! That's the way it was meant to be.
Sometimes it's hard to understand, still the Good Lord has a plan.
So, strive to do the very best you can.
A hero's meant to be admired, their likeness in a stone.
Truth was meant to keep us humble as we search the vast unknown.
OH! The homeless and the lonely were never meant to walk alone.
But, a child's meant to have mom and dad together in the home.
(repeat chorus)
It always causes pain when we cut against the grain.
When we don't do as we should, then the bad out-weighs the good.
(repeat chorus)
